Met this 17 year old.. Got Some Feedback
Posted Thursday, December 31st, 2009. Filed Under Voices of youth | Leave a Comment
I was on a flight to New Jersey and I shared with him my youth development mentoring program and he seemed intrigued. He said that he probably wouldn’t go to it however if it was in the school system that will be great.
I want you to know that it is my intention to do so. Saying that, you may have to come “half way” to the table to become part of the co-creators of this world.
I am looking forward to working with the youth for as I have said I feel it is the youth that will lead the changes that we want to see in our world.
Enjoy your night — don’t drink and drive, be safe. Have a wonderful New Years and I will “see you” in 2010.
All my best,
Sandra
2010 is about Unveiling the Mask – Be True To You
Posted Thursday, December 31st, 2009. Filed Under Voices of wisdom | Leave a Comment
THIS IS A GREAT YEAR COMING UP I feel it and so do so many others. 2010 is a year to be true to who you are however to do so you must first be willing to unmask you – unveil you.
Doing so can be frightening and exciting all at the same time. This site is about empowering you to do so. I want to be part of your process, through encouraging words, articles and resources. It is baby steps. Please know that .
We are entering into a time where irresponsibility is no longer acceptable. We must begin to be accountable and responsible for our actions and outcomes both at the individual level and corporate level. It is no longer about this old energy of ME and what’s in it for me – rather it is about opening up our heart and following our truth and being true to who we are; coming together collectively to make a difference.
I am focussing on three areas in 2010 – empowerment workshops, corporate work and youth development mentoring program. It is an exciting time. I am being guided to people who will assist me on this path.
I sat down over the last month and wrote out my intentions for 2010. I was as clear as I can be. I know that the more I am in alignment with my thoughts, feelings and actions, the quicker things will manifest.
I have shared with some friends a channelling that was sent to me talking about what we will see between 2010 – 2012. It was exciting for it talked about taking back our power, being true to you. It also talked about unmasking the veil that so many have been wearing for so long. It discussed our ability to shift perception by being objective and moving oneself out of the “eye of the storm”.
There was a portion that talked about corporations and that the idea of just being in business to earn money is shifting and that corporations will do financially better if they shift there focus to a more “heart-centred” way of doing business: caring about their clients both within and external (their staff and customers).
I am so excited to be part of this time. I look forward to being part of your journey, your train ride, re-membering who you are and your brilliance.
Take this year and make it all about you – who are YOU and how can you best serve your truth and the lives of others?
Thank you for a wonderful year — you have collectively read close to 54,000 pages. I will continue to add resources and words of wisdom both from myself and others. Please continue to share.
On behalf of me and my family, we want to wish you a wonderful New Year. 2010 is a great year to come and as a friend of mine says, “the best is yet to come!!” or even more of it.
All my best,
Sandra

Suze Orman article
I am so behind in my magazine reading that I was reading the O Magazine from Thanksgiving. In there was the Suze Orman section. A woman was asking her for assistance regarding finances.
In the article this woman says that she has given her life savings to her close friend and she heard that her friend recently lost her job and she was concerned that the friend may “dip” into the money and she did not know how to ask her friend for the money back without insulting her.
I CAN TELL YOU SUZE ORMAN WAS NOT SO KIND IN HER RESPONSE!!!
Suze Orman told this woman to WAKE UP AND TAKE BACK YOUR POWER AND TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR FINANCIAL WELL BEING. She asked the woman why she will hand away her entire life savings, putting it in the hands of a “stranger”; Does this woman not know what is best for herself – more so than her friend??
It was interesting. Now, I will not yell at you (like my financial advisor did to me), however I will tell you, encourage you, to take back your power and be fully responsible for your financial outcome. You can do this and it is important to be aware of where your money is going and how it is being invested, are you living beyond your means, are you creating debt, good debt, how is your credit and so on.
Maritza and I want to reduce the fear around finances and let you know that so much of what you do on a daily basis is no different then how you will take care of your finances. We have likened your finances to your closet for we know that a woman takes pride in her closet (ok sometimes it gets messy in there) and takes time to know where everything is placed – where she can find it. Sometimes it means reorganizing the closet, getting rid of things and then adding things.
We look forward to empowering you to find your way along your path of financial awareness and knowing in 2010.
We want to wish you an abundant 2010! May all of your dreams come true. First, you must take accountability and responsibility for your choices.
All our best,
Sandra and Maritza

It is all about attitude
Posted Thursday, December 31st, 2009. Filed Under My Daily Dose | Leave a Comment
I would like to conclude with the final post of this year and this decade with the central theme of this website – The power of attitude. So much of our successes and failures can be attributed to our attitude. This interesting and inspiring video. How would you feel if your job was to hold a sign next to a street? I bet you are thinking it is boring and mundane, right? Check out the video and see. I promise you will be pleasantly surprised.
Here is an excerpt from the blog…
“In the world of mind-numbingly boring jobs, swinging a sign to advertise mattress sales or open houses along Bay Area roadways ranks pretty high. The sign dudes usually look completely dejected, drugged, or like they’re desperately trying to pretend they’re somewhere else. Who wouldn’t?
So as I walked down Fourth Street by Moscone Center this morning, you can imagine my excitement to see this dude, who had taken his sign job to a higher realm — a freakin’ signage samurai. Talk about flair! We weren’t alone in our amazement. Motorists waiting at the stoplight took him in with their mouths hanging open; commuters passing with iPod buds in their ears smiled at the completely unexpected skills of this maven. Spinning the sign like a basketball on his finger, slashing it around him back like a mad baton twirler, stopping it in mid-air to head-bang for a bit.”

Near Death

A couple of posts while back, there was a post that was about Dash the movie, and how life is short, and we should live every day to the fullest. Again on the light hearted theme, here is an awesome video of some very close to death experiences. This reinforces the theme of being thankful and grateful to be fortunate. This also illustrates how life is so colorful and vibrant. Without these experiences, life could be boring.

Life lessons
Posted Monday, December 28th, 2009. Filed Under My Daily Dose | Leave a Comment
This was written by a 90 year old woman named Regina Brett of Cleveland, OH.
She wrote in The Plain Dealer newspaper the following:
“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 44 lessons life taught me. It is the
most-requested column I’ve ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August,
so here is the column once more:”
1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.
8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it or a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.
24. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ”In five years, will this matter?”.
26. Always choose life.
27. Forgive everyone everything.
28. What other people think of you is none of your business.
29. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
31. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
32. Believe in miracles.
33. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.
34. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now..
35. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.
36. Your children get only one childhood.
37. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
38. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere..
39. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.
40. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
41. The best is yet to come.
42. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
43. Yield.
44. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.

Tough Week With The Energy – Last Bit Of Shedding Before 2010

We Are In Retrograde
Are some of you finding you are exhausted? Do not have any motivation? Are irritable? Are Moody? Are down? Are you finding that your computer crashed or is giving you trouble? Your fridge acting up? Plans with friends are being changed or cancelled altogether?
If so, I just want you to know that you are not alone. We are in a Mercury Retrograde which is when there is a lot of contrast and things forcing you to be in the moment and deal with things both internally and externally.
I am told that it will last until around the 15th of January. So, what I have decided is to listen to my body and sleep or nap when I need, to exercise and take extra special care of my physical body, be in the moment and let things flow. My entire Christmas break was planned and every plan fell apart and because I was allowing myself to go with it, new plans arouse and me and the kids had tons of fun.
I am being challenged right now in so many ways with MY VALUE. I am shedding the last bit of this questioning for I KNOW WHO I AM and I know my work. I also received a great email the other day that talks about me following my truth and heart and letting it unfold vs. what I believed I need to unfold. That still requires my manipulation rather than trusting and knowing.
I am dealing with each incident as it arises and I too will shed this.
I am so ready for NOW and 2010. It is all being set up for us. Just go with the flow.
Enjoy this holiday with your family and friends. Let things unfold as they are meant it, it will make it more enjoyable.
I want to wish all those celebrating a very Merry Christmas!
All my love,
Sandra
Dash Movie
Posted Thursday, December 24th, 2009. Filed Under My Daily Dose | 1 Comment
This wonderful movie is about how we are on earth for a limited period of time. Material goods such as houses, cars, cash are superficial. What matters most is how we live and love. Here are a couple of fantastic quotes from the movie:
“So think about this long and hard; are there things you would like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be arranged…”
“If we can slow down enough to consider what is true and real…and always try to understand the way other people feel…“

Eckhart Tolle on breathing
Posted Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009. Filed Under My Daily Dose | Leave a Comment
This is an interesting video about breathing. Eckhart Tolle, a best selling author, talks about being in the present moment when breathing. Keeping one’s mind clear of all distractions is key.
