Grocery Tips – I have mentioned this site beforehand – IdealBite which provides very useful tips. This one is interesting. This information pertains to the US however check in your country, for instance, what the bar codes on the labels mean – conventionally grown produce, organically or genetically modified. The more we are aware the better choices we can make for ourselves and our family.

www.communitygarden.org – If you want to grow your own garden however be part of a larger group check out this site. It is American so you may need to confirm that the same rules apply.
 
www.localharvest.org – For those in the US you can check out community supported agricultural farms. Take a look at this site. For others it will give you ides.

www.energystar.gc.ca –  I am about to move so I wanted to share with those thinking of buying a new product and/or renovating and replacing an old item to check out this site. The site lists energy saving products in Canada.

www.freecycle.org  –  I love this site. It is a not-for-profit organization that helps recycle goods. Please take a look.  Become part of a group of people around the world who are working to help pass on items to others and avoid sending it to landfills.  Once you become a member (it’s free) you subscribe to a list and offer any unwanted stuff to other members or look for something.  There is no selling or trading allowed.  You choose who the lucky recipient is.  Again, it gives people from other countries ideas.

Please go to this site and take a look. This is for Canada. Find out if there is one that exists for your country.

I welcome people from all over the world to see this site and encourage their own countries to do the same, if they are not already.
  • http://independent.footprint.wwf.org.uk/ – This is a carbon footprint calculator. Measure how we use the planet’s resources. This will tell us our ecological footprint.
