Happy Mother’s Day

Posted Friday, May 6th, 2016. Filed Under Voices of wisdom

My mother sent this to me and I just loved it and wanted to share…. you can copy and paste and share with others.

Flower Delivery

I truly believe in this. How many flowers end up at the funeral home and how many flowers did the dead person enjoy while they were alive? Here’s an e-flower from me! Enjoy your day!
I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I’m here, than a whole truck load when I’m gone.
These Are For You !!!

Just forward these to all your friends,
Including …. Back to me.
And please don’t decide that you’re too busy for this.
Remember the phrase ….
‘Stop and Smell the Flowers’ ???
Let’s just see how many ‘Bouquets’ You end up with’
Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrows keep you Human,
Failures keep you Humble,
Success keeps you Glowing,
But … Only Friends ….
Keep You Going !!!

All I wanted to do is be a mother. To me it is one of the most important jobs that exist. What I realize it is also one of the hardest, least valued jobs out there. Yet I still love it. It is hard for me at times as I am really sensitive. I have definitely toughened up over the last 10 years however when it comes to my children I let things get to me particularly when I felt my ex was using my kids against me to get a certain outcome.

My older son is almost 16 1/2 years old and he and I have been colliding lately. The irony of this is when I was his age I was equally as challenging. I remember my mom saying she didn’t like me between the ages of 15-20 years old. I laugh now because I know what she is talking about. Even going through tough years from my divorce and things the boys went through I thought I was well prepared for dealing with the teenage years. OH BOY WAS I WRONG. I called my mom the other week (actually more than once) and said, “Mom I am getting everything back tenfold!” She laughs and says, “Remember when I told you I don’t like you but I will always love you” and I respond yes, “Well now you are experiencing this however this too shall pass”. Mom’s really do know everything. Her final suggestion is not to take things personally.

I have used that line often in texts, conversation and so forth with my son. The other day he told me he has no respect for me right now (I wouldn’t let him do something) and that he’s treating me as a human being. I asked if I should treat him as a human being as well in the same light (being a little petty huh?). In the absurdity of this conversation I know he was being his 16 year old teenage self with that crazy brain.

So for all the “mother’s” out there and that can include mother-type: grandparent, aunt, sibling, friend, guardian, etc….. I want to wish you a happy mother’s day and enjoy the day. You deserve it.

All my love,
