Learning To Go With The Flow

I have been in my new house for just over three weeks and things are starting to fall into place. One thing that has carried me through this time, especially with all of the work that I did, is to go with the flow FOR THINGS WILL HAPPEN.

For me there has been workers bringing in their tall ladders and scratching my new hardwood floor.  I was told that some of my bedroom furniture will not be in until October — what can I do (they called and I believe most of it is in)?? My carpet guy discovered I had 2 cracks in the foundation.  I had to fix them.  Not a cost I accounted for. Then tonight as I was showing my girl friend around my home I opened the furnace room to discover water and she said that the carpet felt wet.  Well, when I had my ducts cleaned they knocked a tube and “disconnected it” which caused water to leak onto the floor and now some of my new carpet is soaking wet which likely means that I will have to replace the carpet and underpadding. I am not happy about this however I AM LEARNING TO GO WITH THE FLOW.

When I look around my house I like to focus on what I am grateful for.  That is not to say that I have not had my moments, I have. I am human.  However, when I sit back and really think about the impact that this will have in my life, I know that the issue will get resolved and yes sometimes it does cost me.  However in 5 months or a year from now will I be thinking of this. Instead, everytime there is a storm, like the hurricane that touched down 15 minutes from my home along with the large rainfall, I will be happy to know that the cracks in the foundation have been fixed and my concern for water dammage has been greatly reduced.

Again, I leave you with this … learn to go with the flow as much as you can. It doesn’t mean that you will not experience anger or frustration. I did and quickly let it go for there was nothing that I can do.  When I went with the flow things turned out for the best.

All my best,
