I am approaching 2016 differently than I have any other year. In years past, when I wrote my intentions I looked at ways I could make things better, improve or change what I already knew. Sometimes it was just learning to let go.

I was faced with an issue in early January. When I was first faced with this I thought how am I going to deal with this? I was away with my son for two weeks in Australia and on one of the flights I watched a movie that had an impact. The movie itself does not matter. What mattered was when the main protagonist found himself at a low point in his life and decided to fight back; his new coach/teacher taught him how to strengthen himself from his ‘weak side’. In other words, for his entire life he fought his fights the same ol way. He became predictable. Then, faced with losing his daughter, he had to find another way to do so. And he did. He learned to strengthen and use the weaker side of himself and he approached his challenges differently. He was more methodical. He was calmer, more at peace.

So as I approach this blip in my life I will do so with the same calmness and method that was impressed on me from the movie.

I also need to focus on what I want and desire in my life. The blip is a mere distraction and can only draw me away if I let it. One realization I came to when I evaluated what is going on, is that for nearly 18 years I have tried to be a teacher and guide however the lessons were lost. Knowing this I am moving away from this role and taking on a new role: guide and advisor to me! Time to spread my wings and soar.

I hope that each and every one of you are approaching 2016 with a desire to be your best self. If that means changing the way you do things, great. If you are happy with where you are at, great.

I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year. It is a “9” year. To me this number signifies the end of a cycle. I know I am ready to move away from the cycle that has been playing for the last 10 years.

I want to wish everyone a wonderful weekend.

All my love,

Sandra
